I have had the privilege to represent Ian & Ruth Eastwood as Designated Buyer's Agent for the purchase of their Cordova Bay residence. Finding the right home was the first task - making it work for their individual needs and improving and updating the design and materials to reflect the new owners lifestyle was the next.
Trusting my team to the reinvention of the space, we began the process of obtaining Strata, Design, Municipal, Engineering, Building and other required approvals - and then set to work.
Scope of work included:
1. Installation of a new main load bearing beam running through the center of the home, allowing the removal of an existing wall between the kitchen and living room, which dramatically improved light, flow and views.
2. Removal and relocation of the rear wall of the existing garage (including the laundry) to accommodate a 3rd parking spot residence for a distinguished family member - The Eastwood's 1953 MG brought with them from England.
3. New cabinets, counter tops, appliances, extension of the oak hardwood flooring on the main level and rear entrance.
4. Total gut and reconfiguration of the master ensuite bathroom with custom mirrored shower stall, heated broad plank wood look tile, custom painted glass soaker tub surround and glass shower enclosure - the most light filled incredible view bathroom you can imagine.
The end result is a unique home in the Seascape Strata - the only one at present with the open plan kitchen & living room. The high quality improvements to the kitchen and bath streamline modern functionality, with an unpretentious elegance, blending understated cabinets with gorgeous hand selected polished granite counters.
Ruth & Ian have a great eye for detail and design and it was a great pleasure to work with such awesome clients.
